Aidan Hoyle's poetry
King
I'm a king in a mysterious castle
In a fairy-tale kingdom of dungeons and dragons
You are my queen wearing diamonds and emeralds
We'll climb the stairs in the tower of Babel.
My father began the search for you
To find the one who'd fit the shoe
You lived as lowly as a peasant
But destiny held a secret present.
I'm a king in a mysterious castle
In a fairy-tale kingdom of dungeons and dragons
You are my queen wearing diamonds and emeralds
We'll climb to the tower of Babel.
Sweetness and innocence were your ways
You soon learnt it's patience that pays
Your ugly sisters were simply spiteful
Your dealings, however, were always delightful.
A princess who entered my birthday ball
Your glorious gown made them talk in the hall
When we danced the timing was perfect
A well of emotion was drained when you went.
I'm a king in a mysterious castle
In a fairy-tale kingdom of dungeons and dragons
You are my queen wearing diamonds and emeralds
We'll climb to the tower and wave to the world.
